Earliest after first lock you've seen ovulation?

I'm sure it hasnt been long enough...but trying to figure out what this means...

I had a pair of snakes lock up for the first time about a month ago. They have been put together about once a week since then and have locked every time for a total of 3 locks. They have also both still been eating.

This past time I put them together there was no lock. The male seemed interested but the female did not. The female has also refused her last meal (which she never does).

Just wondering if this might mean anything.

3 months is my fastest ovulation.

They wont always lock and eat everytime during breeding season. Females will refuse males when their tired and or not in mood. As well as going into shed...

Males once in mood will breed to death

I find that when a female is shed its one of the best times to throw a male in...

I think the lesson here is, snakes are gonna do what they wanna do! I've got a big girl that has been breeding, off and on, since august 2010. At one point in early summer of this year it seemed like she was ovulating, but I guess she reabsorbed, because she got back to normal size and never laid. Both she and her mate have been eating pretty regularly. But now she hasn't eaten in 3 months... who knows?? LOL

On the other hand... I've been told, forget about breeding when they are in shed:

The het G-Stripe girl in this pic is blue as can be... and they are locking up!
