    Breeding question

I got a breeding pair of siamese rats on 10/10/11 and on 10/11/11 I know they hooked up at least twice that night because I saw it. After that she went into her hide I watched them for a couple minutes and she didn't come out again at least while I was watching. Basically I was wondering since they only breed when the female is in heat and since I know they hooked up at least twice surely they hooked up several times during the night and into the morning and she is pregnant right? This is my first time breeding my own rats and if it works out i'll get more to feed all my snakes and maybe some rabbits too for the burms and retics.

She could be pregnant. General consensus says to leave the female in with the male until you can visibly see her pregnant belly.

    You never know.

I put 2 females and a male together on 9/21, all virgins. As of today the male looks more pregnant than the females.

Who was this comment meant for? He's not shy at all. Basically I figure since I saw them hook up at least twice them she must have been in heat and they would have hooked up several dozen times. Also I know that she went into heat again a few days later and they hooked up again at least the one time that I saw them. I got another female four days after I got her that was on 10/14/11 and one has a bigger belly than the other so i'd say further along in her pregnancy if she is indeed pregnant. I've heard that breeders will put a male in with the female and just leave him in there for at least ten days so they know she's pregnant and it'll be two weeks tomorrow so she should be.
