Recommendations on where to buy rats online

Obviously looking for cheapest but not at the cost of quality.
I've looked through all of the sites on the list of suppliers of feeders and found micedirect.com to be the cheapest and most respectable looking.

What do you guys think of the site and do you have any other recommendations?

I live in NJ so the closer the place is to me the cheaper I assume it will be.

Two things you need to look at price and quality and to me http://www.americanrodent.com/welcome.html beats Mice Direct when it comes to quality.

Since I've never ordered before I'm not sure what poor quality means for rats. Do they not get shipped and cooled properly? americanrodent has a $100 minimum and I don't know if that's overkill for my 1 bp.

The other place I was looking at is the mouse factory

Assuming your looking for frozen. Unless you need some right away, your best bet is a show in pa or NY.

Quality has a lot to do with what they feed their rats and how accurate their sizes are. Not to mention how they get to you and if they are still frozen.

I'm gonna give loxahatcheerodents a shot and see how it goes. Seems to be reasonably priced.

I've ordered from Layne Labs and Big Cheese and been happy with both, although Big Cheese was considerably cheaper.

I've been using rodentpro since 2008 and haven't had any problems. It was my first shipment of frozen rodents and hot as can be down here so I was rather surprised when they arrived and were still frozen solid.
