    I would love to have a little outbuilding like this but our Winters here in Michigan are too harsh - it would cost a fortune to heat it I think.

    Nice job on that project - it looks awesome.

    Really not as bad as you would think. We of course don't get as cold for as long as you do but it did very well for me last winter. The building is built with 2x4 studs and I insulated just like you would a house. I also added plastic sheeting over the insulation before hanging drywall. The building is less than 100 sft and the rats themselves produce quite a bit of heat. I used a small space heater with an electronic thermostat set on 65. I gave them a little extra bedding and they produced like crazy all winter.
