help! humidity issues.
so i just got 2 new bps last weekend ones a bumble bee and the other is a balck pastel. one female one male. i have them in the same tank but its divided so they arent in contact with eachother, its a 4o gall breeder that i have split down the middle. i have a under tank heater that both of their hides sit on top of right next to the divider so when they are in it they are laying on it. is this the correct way t have it set up? also i have aspen bedding, and newspaper in there to take up some space to no stress them out, but i am worried about the humidity. i have been misting the walls of the cage on both halves about 3 times a day, but i feel like this isnt enough to keep the humidity up. i also put a blanket over 75% of the top of the cage to help keep in humidity. what other ways can i be sure that they have the right amount of humidity.

Re: help! humidity issues.
get an acurite indoor/outdoor temp plu hygrometer, that way you know for sure, and foil is a better cover for a tank, since a blanket will suck up moisture almost instantly
but the heat pad placement is fine, as long as you can control the temps, theyre known to get up to 130+

thats what i did, you can get this one for around ten bucks:

just make sure you do a salt test to check the hygro:
http://cigars.about.com/od/humidors/qt/hygrometers.htm
and make sure you know what kind of salt you have:
http://www.cigarpass.com/forums/inde...howtopic=33711
the one in the pic reads 7% low, and the one for my boa reads 17% low, so they do vary
and yes, tin foil

i found mine kinda more by the auto section, or diy section i guess, but just ask someone where the indoor/outdoor thermometers are, and make sure you find one that reads all 3
