It actually sounds great to me for a first time owner! May I suggest that in my experience with tanks, blacking out the sides and back makes them feel more secure. I use black Con-tact paper from Home Depot for $6. It makes the tank seem less big and can sometimes prevent them from being stressed. You may not need it though, since it is cluttered with plants and the sorts. Good luck and congrats on your pick up!
