    Hairless--Harmful To Snakes?

I was told recently that hairless rats were not good to feed off to your snakes. The hairless were said to mostly just sit in the snake's stomach and not become digested properly because the hair of rodents usually plays some type of roll in digestion.

Apparently some guy bred hairless and they resulted in the death of some of his snakes because the rodent sat in the stomach of the snake.

I thought this was odd because snakes are known to eat lizards, and they have it completely opposite from fur. And on top of that, as far as I know snakes don't digest the fur or teeth of prey items.

Thought this was kind of interesting. I was looking into breeding hairless because I love the way they look and need more breeding females for snake food.

If you ask me, that sounds like a load of [poop]. The snake doesn't even digest the hair anyways, which is why a good part of their poop is comprised of hair from the rats. The hair does nothing beneficial for their processing of the prey animal. It doesn't make logical sense, if you ask me.

I've never heard of hair helping in digestion. I know I've seen plenty of hairy turds. Lol hairless may be better. But they do digest bone so I've never seen any teeth, but I don't go digging through their poo either

Nope, sounds like guy was trying to put blame on his snakes dieing.

Thing of larger snakes eating pigs which are hairless mostly. And i Know some that will shave rabbits before thye feed, to reduce all the unneeded fur.

I can't see it either, the only thing that might happen is the poo might be looser than normal. No hair to hold it together.

Only thing I've ever heard is it causing runnier poos... Don't think it would kill a snake!
