I have 2 baby Brazilian Rainbow boas, and the breeder said when they bite you can feel it hit your bone. He said their teeth are longer so it feels sharper. Does it hurt very bad when they bite? They have striked at me but missed. I have heard not to wear gloves or they will get used to not biting the gloves, and bite your hands when you don't wear gloves.

Some Brazilian Rainbow Boas can be nippy as babies, but usually grow out of it quickly. When a Baby Brazilian Rainbow Boa bites you, it startles you much more than it actually hurts. When a baby bites you, it's often best to continue holding it until it calms down so that it learns that striking won't make the big bad hand go away. Brazilian Rainbow Boas generally have a docile temperament, and it's rare for my adults to strike.

Do they grow out of biting normally, without handling? I mean if you barely ever hold it as a baby will it still grow out of biting, or will it only if you handle it alot?

temperament seems to hit or miss, some out grow it and some just stay testy from what I experienced.
I have only been but by babies and it does not hurt, just makes you jump. im sure the adults would tickle quite a bit but nothing major.

How are their over all temperaments? I've really be thinking about getting one. What breeders do you suggest?

Even with minimal handling, most babies grow out of biting. Some babies don't even go through a nippy phase. I believe that babies bite primarily as a defense mechanism. In the wild, a 30 gram baby is just about at the bottom of the food chain. Their best chance at survival is to strike something and run away.

In my experience, the majority of Brazilian Rainbow Boas end up with a very mellow temperament. As long as you have a properly set up cage, Brazilian Rainbow Boas are a beginner level snake. The humidity needs are easily met by using a large water bowl, using a moist hide box, and limiting ventilation. Additionally, BRBs have an excellent appetite, and rarely have the feeding issues you sometimes run into with Ball Pythons. Also, Brazilian Rainbow Boas have outstanding color. Do you have any others like the one in the video that is eating a rat? My male has a connected pattern like that also, like a zig zag or stripe down its back.
