    Love is in the air...

I wasn't planning to start pairing anyone until November, since I don't really see the point in starting earlier... but my Spotted Pythons have been super restless since the weather cooled down, and have both been off feed for over a month. So I figured they're ready for some lovin', and put Izzy into Johnny's tub tonight - and they locked within hours!

They didn't go for me last year, so let's hope 2011-12 is my season for baby Spotteds.

P.S. I love how they have Johnny's hide (which is tiny for Izzy) on like a blanket... guess they're shy, LOL.

Thanks all! My het albino BPs also locked this week, so it's looking like a good season so far... albinos (unless the odds gods hate me), spotted pythons, and 1-2 other BP pairings are expected now. Woot!

    Izzy?

I thought she was Rosie...........my daughter will be crushed.

Good luck on the babies. You know the incubation temps - right?

Sorry!! But my grandmother's name is Rose, and her nickname has always been Rosie... so there was something weird about calling a snake by her name, LOL. I tried to choose something that SOUNDS like Rosie, though, not that she knows the difference.

Thanks! And no, I don't know much about incubating these eggs... I've been searching & searching for info, but all I can find are caresheets on Children's Pythons. I don't want to assume it's the same for Spotteds - or Stimsons, for that matter, as I'm planning to breed those next season. Anything you could share would be great, in fact I was already planning to ask you.

P.S. If you tell your daughter she's still Rosie, I'll totally play along... hehe.

Target 89 degrees with moderate humidity.

Don't let it go above 90.5 or below 87.5.
