Bloody and pantless!

ney everyone!

It looks like my 'little' girl is a feisty one. Whole at work last she was trying to get out of her tub, and woke up my girlfriend. When I got home, I took her out so she could calm down, stretch, and explore a bit. For awhile she was calm in my lap, but then started poking her head around, and managed to find my pants leg opening...

Well she darted up my leg, and squeezed as much six foot of boa in there as she Icould. We tried to pull her out. Well I supposed she wanted none of that, because she tried to bite my shin.

Since that didn't work, my girlfriend wanted to cut my pants off! While she ran to get scissors, I ended up managing to get my pants off. Then I had a moody boa to handle. I decided after all of the excitement, it would be best to put her back in her tub to relax.

On the way back in, she managed to get a couple of teeth in my hand from a sideways nip.

Of course there was pictures. This was the first time I've been bitten by any of my snakes, and funny thing is that beforw I even took her out, I calmly told my girlfriend that I was most likely going to be bitten, and for her to not worry or get upset. I was calm, confident, and gentle the entire time with the boa, even with her teeth in me.

Unfortunately, now my girlfriemd is trying to bribe me to get rid of her. She's nervous about her, but is alright with my baby male, because, I'm raising him from such a young age.











That last picture, the shadows hide a lot of the blood, I was dripping for a bit. Though I smiled the entire time, and I think I'm the only person who understood her.

LMAO... sorry to laugh at your bloody pants-less experience, but I was imagining the whole scenario in my head like a movie. And then the pictures made it even funnier!

Glad you're okay, though! And I'm impressed with your attitude, since I get nervous around my nippy CORN snake - so it's doubtful I'd be so calm with a 6ft boa going after my flesh.

No worries, I laughed about it while it was happening. When she bit my leg, I didn't even react, I just passively mentioned to the others in the room "I think she just bit my leg...huh.."

But the gf is trying to make me find her a new home already, I sent her a text telling her that 'she's jealous of another girl giving me a few kisses.'

If the tub in the picture is the tub you are keeping her it, it is too small. The height is fine, but it is not long enough. They do make boas tubs that are long. Follow this link for pictures of them: http://www.reptiletubs.com/ve175photos.htm. However, I suggest keeping such a large boa in a 4x2 cage.

Well that gives a new definition to "trouser snake". My boa's gone into my pants but it was a pair I wasn't wearing.

And usually snake bites look worse than they are (unless it's a venomous one ). My little Ball took a nip at my roommate and he was visibly bleeding for a little bit, but he said it didn't hurt or anything. Getting bitten is just part of the job.

Good eye on the tub. That is the tub that she is currently in, and of course I realize it is too small, though that is what the previous owners had her in, and what was given to me with her. Right now there is a heavy water dish, and a UTH on the side of the tub.

I'm currently waiting on a boaphile rack to show up so I can put my other sakes in the rack system to clear up space, then I can put her in a 40 gallon breeder, and shortly after, order a Boaphile 421d.

So please don't be too upset, I realize her current living conditions are subpar, but I am taking steps to improve her life, though they are a bit slow.


A couple more notes.

I took her out again for about 15 minutesa couple of days ago, but this time I put leather gloves on in case she tried to kiss my fingers again. She didn't seem to really care. I let her poke around for a few minutes, then rest her head on my palm while flicking her tongue around.

And today before I went to work, I opened her tub to change out my old shirt, and noticed some urates and the associated fluids in one corner of her tub. Man, I wonder what the poops will be like, jeez.
