I don't know about extremely normal. If you're providing proper husbandry, hunger strikes shouldn't be too common and hunger strikes are more serious when it comes to young or underweight snakes. Now if we were talking about a healthy 1,500 gram adult going on a strike during winter, fair enough, they have enough weight reserves and are past their delicate hatchling stage.
