stagnant air in snake rack

Just made the switch from glass tanks to a rack. Im mostly concerned about my ball pythons developing an RI due to stagnant air. Currently my temps are good (cool 81, hot is 89) and my humidity is usually around 55-60%. I drilled two rows of holes around the sides and front of the tubs (45 total). I dont have a fan running. Would opening the tubs and allowing it to air out everyday be enough to prevent stagnant air or should I run a small fan set on a timer to promote air flow?

I don't know anyone that has issues with stagnant air in racks. With less holes. You'll most likely be okay!

You likely don't need the fan. Hot side/ cool side holes usually will move air by convection all by its self. Racks are a complex arrangement a careful balance between temps airflow and ambient air temps. The fan is fine if it doesn't tank the ambient air temp inside the tubs. Typically very few talk about or understand the important nature of AIR temps. Racks often do not do well in cool rooms so I am guessing yours is heated? if so the fan should be fine if not I'd ditch it.

My room never gets below 70. My rack is well insulated which allows me to hold the proper temps. I actually posted a thread awhile back and got the idea of insulation from you. Your rack is in a cold room too?

Yes it is in fact typically 68-80 varies a lot. I'd not use a fan as it will just drop the cool end temps you need all you can hold check the cool side temps on the surface and the temps of the tubs air. You should have 79-82 cool surface and 78-85 air temps.
