What's a snake you've owned that had a mean demeanor or a bite your face attitude?

One of my girls hisses constantly whenever you lift her hide but she's never struck at me. She just likes to pretend to be a tough girl.

oh man, Brita, my old Barneck Scrub Python. we got her from my brothers friend, he got evicted from his apartment, and his parents said hell no, so we took her, for "two weeks". anyway, she was eight feet when we got her, never been held, and she would strike the glass everytime someone would walk by. we put a blanket over her cage and she still struck as soon as you entered the room. it was a challenge just giving her water, you'd have to poor with one hand and hold her down with a hook with the other. the guinea pigs barely had time to hit the floor before she got them. eventually she started calming down around me, i would just sit in front of her cage for an hour or so at a time. i decided that since she stopped striking at me, i didnt need the hook to give her water, so i reached in there, and she got my hand and coiled up my arm. it took me ten minutes to get her off, and at this time she was 10+ft and i was like 14-15, at home alone lol. about two yrs later (she was 12+ft now) she stopped striking when i would give her water, which was quite the relief. and after some liquid courage (jager), i swung the door open, grabbed her and put her around my neck, and she was fine for like 20-30mins, then she gave me a quick bite on my arm so i put her back. then all of a sudden my stupid sister who didnt even live with us at the time called the guy that gave her to us and told him to come pick her up, without any of us knowing, so i came into the garage and saw him loading her into his truck that was like 2-3yrs ago, and im still at her for that. that snake was special to me, i was the only one that could reach in her tank or do anything around her with her being completly undisturbed. if anyone else went within 10ft of her cage she was instantly in "S" mode haha. man i miss that snake

Gotta love that amazon tree boa attitude! All are mean. I couldn't tell you how many times ours have lit me up. My wife won't go near them and stands on the other side of the room whenever I take them out.

I've also had some kings that were downright evil. Had a few carpets that were full of "personality" too. We have a female Irian Jaya right now that can be a real PITA. She is very unpredictable. One minute she will be calm as a ball python and then WHACK! She likes keeping me on my toes.

I had a little hypo boa baby for a while... nippy little thing. I had it out once in my hand and was talking to Coils, and she goes "uh.. he's kinda going for your face..."

And of course, being me... I look down quickly. Totally had little boa tooth marks on my chin.

my corn snake can be a pain in the butt you put your hand in her cage she'll strike you can get close to the cage and if she's in a bad mood she'll strike she's never bitten me and once I get her out she is fine. but she is extremely cage aggressive. The only time I've been bit is by my boa I was moving and reached my hand in her tub, I think she thought I was food and her bit me. it made me jump I grabbed the hook pulled her out and held her fine.

I've held baby Hog Islands that love to hiss. It usually wears out by adulthood though. A Tegu.....now THAT is something that I will never own. Even with handling they can be unpredictable. A snake will draw blood, a Tegu will break your finger with no problems.

My worst at this time is a beautiful Lesser Platty female. She is a striker and a hisser. She's also one of my best eaters, so I live with it. Reach in and get tagged everyonce in a while. Truthfully, about 80% of the time. But to get around it most of the time, I pull her container, put a locking lid and cool her down a bit. Then she can be picked up without too many issues.

But my worst of all times was a 7 foot long female Dumeril Boa. She had tagged me a number of times and left teeth. She had a terrible cage presence, but once out of her cage, she was a *****cat. Breading was a pain. I tried her in his cage, him in her cage, nothing worked. She would tear him up. I sold her after 2 years. I couldn't put the male through another breeding season with her.

my mojave male... he wasnt so bad when i first got him but now as he gets bigger and in his mind i guess "tougher" he's a serious pain in the butt.
