    Dubia Roaches Info

Those that deal with them, What is your Methods on keeping them.

I was reading using cat or dog food crushed up for them, and using fruits or veggies few times week. Which can be used as their water source, or use water crystals.

I picked up 500 dubias and 1oz of water crystals.

I was wondering anyone use rodent Lab blocks rather cat/dog food.

Yes I have used them, and they seem to be doing well on them. I keep carrots with mine, fruits and water gel either go bad or dry up fast. I have bred Dubias for years now, and one thing I can tell you is to keep them warm, I have mine over a heat pad and that made a huge difference in the production as soon as I used it.

Their staying in 80F room which will be plenty warm for them.

I guess i can experiment with the water crystals till their gone, and see if their easier or just using the fruit/veggies for the water.

Were you implying you used rodent blocks?

Hey brother, I used Chicken "crumbles" food from a local feed store.

50 lbs for like 13 bucks, it worked great, and it will last FOREVER

Reason Im asking is most know as bottom of your rodent food bags, theres like a pound of food in dust. Rather keep throwing that away, figured let the dubias eat that on top of the fruits and veggies.

Since im usign 23% Rodent Blocks should be perfect for them.

I use the broken up rodent blocks and the dust left in the bottom of the bag, a little dog food, and powdered milk all mixed up and ground up in a coffee grinder. Nothing else but a water source, usually either crystals or potatoes/apples...
I keep them in the high 70's, and I use a UTH on one side of the bins for a hot spot.

You can water down the rat block crumbles into apple sauce like consistency for a food/water source. You can feed pretty much anything honestly in rotation and only what they can eat in 2 or so days to prevent mold. Mine are over my bearded dragon light and is much warmer than 80.

They breedbetter with a cheap uth on one side. I keep mine plugged in even in summer. The pregs will stay close to the heat.

When I had dubias, I bought food and crystals from him. A few hundred turned into a few thousand, only buying one of his chow + crystals combo.
