Well, I guess the mystery remains! Think he's worth holding back? He is a confirmed male (showed hemipenes when I popped), so I could breed him within the year - the Mojave dad bred successfully in his first season, so I could potentially make eggs with him by next summer.

Re: Mystery baby post-shed... whaddya think?
Hi,
I can't decide.
Can we see a picture of his pattern full length along the side?
I ask because he does look to have the blushing just along the side just above the belly but I can't see many squiggles in the posted pics.
The colour looks slightly off for a black pastel though - but that happens to me all the time trying to get pictures.

I know, it's SO hard to get their colors right in a photo! I need to do an outdoor shoot with him, but of course it's raining this week - and dark right now.
Here's a slightly outstretched post-shed pic:
And here's a pre-shed photo - kinda fuzzy, so I'll try to get a better one later.

And for comparison's sake, here's a picture of my adult black pastel... as you can see, he's not that "typical" looking himself (almost cinnamon-like).

He looks like a nice dark normal imo.

The neck looks similar to the necks of my granite. So if it does happen to prove I'd say it would be a granite type

Thanks to everyone for the input! Now the big question - do I hold him back or sell? And if I sell him, should I charge more than a typical normal male?
