Markers are not 100% reliable there are het pied with markers there are some without, there are also normals with markers very similar to the pied markers.
An animal should never be bought based on the presence or markers.
Now how do you know whether or not the animal you bought is indeed a Het Pied or any other type of het for that matter? By buying from a REPUTABLE breeder that stands by his animals and will guarantee the genetics. (Those are the real markers )

Markers are not exact. You will have to breed them to prove if they are actually het pied. Good luck
2.0 Offspring, 1.1 Normal Ball Python, 1.0 Pastel Ball Python, 0.1 Albino Ball Python, 0.1 Pinstripe Ball Python, 0.1 Banana Ball Python, 1.0 Pied Ball Python, 1.0 Normal Hognose, 0.1 Veiled Chameleon, 0.0.1 G.pulchra, 0.1 P.metallica, 0.1 M.giganteus

What do you mean, as you feared? Did you not buy them from a reputable breeder?

If they are reputable people, check around about them and things, then you are probably ok
Just remember, hitting a pied will only be a 25% chance each egg each time, so if you dont hit it the first year, try again.
