For anyone who hasn't seen my other thread, I have a pet rat named Lucky, who was bought as a live fuzzie to attempt to feed my picky baby ball python. I have since learned that she will only eat live
mice, so Lucky survived the night in the snakes tub, so I decided to keep him. I bottle fed him, and now he's a fat happy rat living in an awesome 3 story enclosure.
I work a lot, and I've heard rats are very social (he is with me and my family anyways) and I always feel bad leaving him alone for 8-16 hours. So I decided to pick up another feeder rat to save. He caught my eye in the tank full of "weaned rats", but before I could look under his tail to see if he was male, he leaped out of my hands and dove back into the pile of baby rats. I looked at a couple others but kept going back to this one, I finally warned him "I promise...you want to come with me" lol. It seemed like after I said that he calmed down and actually let me pet him without jumping.
He doesn't have a name yet, and he'll be quarantined for a couple weeks. I snapped this picture in the car and actually gave him a bath when we got home because he smelled, so this is the only picture I have, but he'll be Lucky's roomate soon lol. His eyes are really cool too, they look black but under the light they are red
