Re: Lucky has a friend now

I have since learned that she will only eat live mice, so Lucky survived the night in the snakes tub, so I decided to keep him. I bottle fed him, and now he's a fat happy rat living in an awesome 3 story enclosure.

I work a lot, and I've heard rats are very social (he is with me and my family anyways) and I always feel bad leaving him alone for 8-16 hours. So I decided to pick up another feeder rat to save. He caught my eye in the tank full of "weaned rats", but before I could look under his tail to see if he was male, he leaped out of my hands and dove back into the pile of baby rats. I looked at a couple others but kept going back to this one, I finally warned him "I promise...you want to come with me" lol. It seemed like after I said that he calmed down and actually let me pet him without jumping.

He doesn't have a name yet, and he'll be quarantined for a couple weeks. I snapped this picture in the car and actually gave him a bath when we got home because he smelled, so this is the only picture I have, but he'll be Lucky's roomate soon lol. His eyes are really cool too, they look black but under the light they are red

Awwww! How cute! Lucky is well, very "lucky" to have such a good rattie momma like you! I'm sure he and the new rattie will get along just fine.
