    Shedding spurs?

So I've started pairing up my ball pythons and found a spur in the tub that looks like it somehow shed off. Taking a closer look at my snakes it seems at some point the male lost not only this one but the other as well and is now without spurs. There're no apparent tears, scabs or blood, just little indentations where the spurs would normally be found. Anybody else had this happen and if it was a male did it affect his breeding?

    Thanks,
    John

They break off sometimes. He will be fine.
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.
