BPnet Veteran
Newest member of the family! A rescued stray.
A couple weeks ago, my a friend that lives around the corner found a stray in our neighborhood. He was in horrible condition. Covered in mange, had a yeast infection on his chest, horribly sunburnt, and nothing but skin and bones. He was bad enough that no shelter would take him. I came over to check him out shortly after he told me about him. I fell in love with him instantly.
A few trips to the vet and a couple weeks later, and he is looking MUCH better. I had been considering getting a 2nd dog so that my little dachshund would have a buddy, and definitely wanted to get a bigger dog. This guy came along at the perfect time into our life as the newest member of the family! Still don't have a name for him yet, as nothing seems to jump out at me as the perfect name. He still has quite a ways to go as far as his mange, but he's on meds for that, as well as antibiotics for his infections.
Vet said he's about a year old, give or take. He really does have the most calm, sweetest demeanor; something I was concerned with since he was a stray. Couldn't have asked for a better new pup!
Here he is the day he was found.

Lot's of sleeping...

Most recent photo, looking much much better.

wowwee that sunburn looks like it hurt & that must be why he had that sad but somewhat relieved look on his face in that first pic. you cleaned him up well.
