I started the day at a "going out of business sale" at a reptile shop. I have no herps right now but plan on getting some and building racks. I found some flexwatt heat tape and scored it for $40.00 for about 250 ft+. (someone was practically crying when they missed out).

Then I responded to an ad for babies out of a dwarf rat, and drove an hour to pick up 9 babies. When i got there, the mom was not a dwarf, rather, a normal sized female rat (the store told him dwarf and compared her to the huge male they sold him too). Either way, They were all pretty ratties, all or most were dumbos, and they were mostly masked with very little markings. They were also silvers and very few blacks.

That was cool, they were very pretty. So then he mentions that he's also got mice and he shows me a few and he has mice that are almost all white with black eyes and that are also satins! They were beautiful!!! He mentions he has a bunch of long haired and more satins and cool colors but didn't want to bring all the tanks out. I was going to buy a bunch but Paypal wasn't cooperating on my phone.

So I left and went to the place he said he bought a lot of his stock, a local countrymax. I picked up the following mice BUT i'm kicking myself right now because there was a tailless mouse in with the group. I didn't think anything of it and thought maybe it was just bitten off, but after looking at photos of other tailless mice, it looks as if this could be a legitimate genetic tailless. So now I'm like OMG, I gotta get back there. So I'm going to paypal the guy money for his mice and then stop off at countrymax and pick up my little tailless friend tomorrow first thing in the AM (Fingers crossed it's still there!!!)


Anyway, here is what I have going on right now. I'm currently waiting for the rest of the supplies for my watering system to come in, I'm doing a pressure system with edstrom valves. I have someone building me racks, 8 high for $60.00 per rack (I have to do watering system and buy tubs), and someone building me mouse rack without watering system (I have tubs already) for 160 for a 55 slot rack. I have one 8 tub unit setup and one 7 tub unit setup.
