    Does your RTB do this?

Sating absolutely SPAZZES every time I try and take her off if she's around my shoulders. She'll clamp down with her muscles and swing her head wildly, trying to climb back up around my shoulders. If I let her go back up, she slithers up and immediately stops squeezing and moving once she gets settled. I'm at the point where I kinda don't want to put her near my shoulders, 'cause she's gotten a lot stronger (I know she's not trying to kill me or anything, I'm not worried) but her squeezing is getting a little too intense. It's almost impossible now to take her out/put her back without throwing her tail over my shoulder so I can get the door open 'cause she's 6 ft now, but once she gets her tail around it's like she's drowning and I'm a life preserver.

Do your RTB's have this "hold on for dear life" thing going on? My only other snake is a BP, and she doesn't act like this at all, lol.

Their climbers and squeeze when they feel scared of falling. They are VERY strong for their size and dont know better.

Why never put them on your neck.

Yep, boas don't go around your neck. It's fine when they're babies, but a 6ft adult should never be given the opportunity to wrap around your neck. They are incredibly strong and no, she's not trying to hurt you, but even just using you for security can cause harm. I had a 7ft male around my waist and he had his tail around my arm for support. When he slipped a little, he tightened up so strongly that I instantly lost all feeling from the elbow down. I was in no danger as my hubby and our friend (the snake's owner) were right there, but it was amazing how fast he cut off all circulation to my arm. A 6ft female can easily cut off the blood flow in your carotid artery causing you to possibly loose consciousness. Not meaning to scare - just want to express caution!

I don't put her around my neck anymore, but today she shot up there when I picked her up. The more I tried to stop her, the harder she squeezed, and I didn't want to hurt her by tugging at her when she was so awkwardly positioned around me, so eventually I had to let her go and when she got comfortable I got my bf to pick her up while I unwound her.

She always "safety-grabs" my arm when I take her out, and she doesn't completely cut off circulation, but she's damn strong. I don't even handle her without someone else there, just in case she gets like she got tonight. Satin's definitely proven in a game of strength I'm way out of her league.
