    feeding attempt failing/questions?

I gave my snake a small hopper today. Very tiny mouse , eyes closed, barely moving, but he had some hair, and is still alive. My snake actually was exploring and had his head right over the mouse at one point.
I am new here, so I have a few questions?
The snake is about 6 weeks old and his chart said he ate 4 times, small mice before I got him.( live) I have had him in his new home for about 5 days, but it has been a week since he ate.
Should I try with some tongs now? How long should I wait before I take the mouse out? How long should I wait before I try again? I am thinking the mouse was not nearly active enough. Maybe slightly biggger small mouse next time? Thanks,
    Todd

You gave it a fuzzy/crawler, try giving it a hopper.

Before offering again wait 5 to 7 days, offering to often will only lead to more refusal, and in the mean time make sure your husbandry is on spot and no handling.
