    Snake tumor? Mysterious bump, please help!

    my big adult male albino ball python has a mysterious bump about tree inches away from his head on his right side. its about half the size of a dime and it was not there last week(or at least it was not noticeable). so it grew very quickly. i wish i could post a pic but i can't.... but does anyone have any ideas of what it could be/if i should take him to the vet. please help

    Why can't you post a picture? No one here can diagnose a problem like that, it needs a vet.

    Obviously this is something that need to be addressed by an HERP vet, depending on what it is it will likely need to be drained or removed surgically or both.

    First, if you have other herps, quarantine the sick one asap.
    Then as stated above - herp vet trip.

    I'd take him/her to the vet, like everyone else said it could be in need of some sort of surgery, as it could be anything, definitely quarantine though, as it could even be some sort of parasitic problem, and if it turns out to be parasites, you may want to go ahead, and have your other snakes checked out, parasites spread easily. I don't know how much it costs where you live, but it's $50 for physical/exam on exotics where I live, and it's worth it.

    broken rib possibly ?? without pics it is tough...ive seen a baby with a broken rib before and it looked like a bump on its side....
