Two reasons people don't use tubs that are tall: waste of space and waste of heat.
Ball pythons do not need height to be happy since they live their lives on the ground, so it saves a lot of space having shorter tubs. As for the waste of heat, it takes a lot more to heat a tub because it has more space to heat and more space to lose heat-the sides of the tub.
There's no harm in using taller tubs if it makes you happyJust as long as the heat is in a good range.
