About to install heat pad on my viv: am I doing this right?

The heat pad is a stick on thing and it comes with feet to put on the tank so that there is ventilation under the tank. I'm planning on taping the thermostat probe to the pad.

Is this correct?

No need to tape, if heat pad is sticky, I would anchor tape it to prevent it from being pulled out.

a good idea with these is to stick the pad to a piece of plexiglass or acrylic, and then tape that to the bottom, that way you can move it to another tank if needed. i actually broke the bottom of a ten gallon trying to pull one of these off

i taped the probe between the heating pad and the tank itself. the thermostat says 90 but it doesn't feel that hot. Does it take a while to heat up?

Yea it takes a few minutes/hours depending on your ambient temps, and you will lose some heat thru the glass aswell

You need a temp gun to be accurate. Body temp is around 99 degrees so 90 feels cold to us.
