    Talking Plans, plans, plans!!

    Wedding plans to be exact

And I'm excited! My SO up until a few hours ago, wanted the courthouse. We've been arguing all weekend about this, and have come to an agreement for OUR dream wedding, not his, not mine, ours

So far we've managed to make a not so happy groom's momma, she's all for our plan of a small, private beach ceremony of just close family. Parents, grandparents and siblings, and my niece and nephew (who may or may not be flower girl and ring-bearer...) However, she doesn't like that we're not having a "real" reception. We're doing a small, private, same guests, family dinner, with our wedding cake. Possibly dances, but that depends on the resturant. Get this, yesterday she told me "Don't let anyone tell you or Chris (SO) how you have to have your wedding, its YOUR day"

I'm still excited, I went to the circus with my parents & niece and nephew to help them watch them, and was literally about to pass out... Then I started with more wedding plans, and I'm now wide awake

    Congrats!

I remember planning for my wedding...back when dinosaurs were still finding their way to the tar pits. It was fun. We had a modest sized church wedding and the reception was also at the church. I didn't want some giant party, either. We did the cake and the tossing of the flowers and the garter and just hung out for a little while. But quite honestly...by the time the wedding was over, I was ready to be out of there! I just wanted to be alone with my new hubby! LOL Short, simple receptions are the best, in my opinion!

That's what we want, short and simple. But of course we got my future MIL, who wants a party type reception and my mom who's showing me so many locations and dresses (I'm pretty sure I've found the one I want, but nearest store that has it that I know of is Atlanta Ga...) my head is going to implode it seems.

I'm trying to keep it slow, so my fiance don't get too stressed, but we don't have alot of time. My moms already trying guilt trips because I'm not inviting certain people. I'm doing alot of this ....

Me thinks it'll be the mommies to drive my fiance and I crazy... I'm very glad at this point his family lives 5hrs away and can't interfere like mine will...

    Sweet and good luck.

We threw a quickie together in in a sweet nice chapel in Vegas. Five weeks in total from engagement. Family was a bit annoyed in the begining. That's okay, they weren't paying for it. That was 14 years ago. I think it is important to come together. I couldn't imagine getting married without a dress, it wasn't fancy or expensive, but it was a wedding gown and just perfect. My husband needed his family there, so instead of just us in Vegas, we had a few family and friends. I am glad he talked me into having family, it made my mom very happy wich meant more to me than I was expecting.

My mother would kill me if I did that! My fiance could careless about how we get married, just as long as we do.

I'm probably not even going to use a technically real wedding dress, but a brides maid dress, since they seem to have the fabric and style I want more commonly, and more affordably then actual wedding gowns

The family thing, we're having siblings and my sister's two kids and grandparents and parents at most. My mom wants me to invite all these people, who I don't see more than twice a year, never talk to unless the visit, and even then its just to be polite. She keeps saying "Oh, your aunt is going to be so upset you didn't invite her!" Yeah.. so will all my other aunts, and uncles and cousins. Same goes for his family. I'm still stickin my fingers in my ears when my mom tries the guilt trip about who's invited and who's not.
