Piebald gaining a spot

I first got my Piebald back in March then a few months ago he started getting a new black spot.
It started with just one scale turning black, now its spread to four. It will be kind of fun once its done growing to see where it ends.

has anyone ever had this happen to them?
We have another snake, a mexican black kingsnake that formed a series of white scales under his chin that he never had.
We just think its so weird.

my high white pied female had the same thing happen. heres a few pics of the spots she developed over time.

yeah it happens with lots of pieds,

must have something to do with the melanocortin1 receptors being unblocked or degraded or something

i dunno what it is but sometimes i wish they didnt show up and other times i love them. deff a love hate thing. hopefully soon ill be able to raise up a bunch of pieds and see if they too develop spots like the female i have. and if u look close in the first picture i posted you can see her random yellow spot

Yeah I'd rather he didn't have the spot but theres nothing I can do about it so its fine.
I'm sure his offspring will be fine little babies anyways.

A lot of high white pieds seem to get those spots as they age. All I have are low whites, so I don't know, but I've seen pictures of some in Kahl's collection that even have them in semi-ordered patterns, which are AWESOME.

And my herp vet was trying to convince me that he saw a whole family of high whites that had a sort of X-marks the spot pattern that appeared on their white patches. (I told him he was making it up, but I'm secretly hoping one will turn up at the Phoenix reptile show this year.)

Mexican blacks sometimes get this, not uncommon, a lot of mine have white spots they developed.
