I love my Kent Rodent Feed. I pay .27cents a pound. 12.99 per 50lbs bag. When ordered by full pallet its $10 a bag.

Look into it. My mice and rats are producing some INSANE litters

Something to keep in mind. At your local feed store they most likely don't get many requests for rodent lab block compared to the other items they sell, so most times the people working there will not be familiar with the Mazuri 6F.
Also many of these places don't carry 6F in stock but can order it and have it come in with their normal supply truck shipment.
In either case you need to approach them armed with knowledge. Remember the product code for Mazuri 6F is "5M30".
Also, the store I've bought the 6F from before didn't know what I was talking about until I told them Mazuri was a Purina brand, then they were able to figure out they could special order it with their normal Purina shipment.

And if all else fails as I said before you can order Harlan/Native Earth 4018 online from National Pet Pharmacy, which is only $.53 a pound for one 40 pound bag or $.38 a pound for five 40 pound bags shipped to your door (tax free in most cases), compared to paying a typical $30 for a 50 pound bag or Mazuri 6F at your local feed store( .$60 a pound + sales tax and round trip gas).

I honestly just can't believe what a great deal National Pet Pharmacy has.

They're selling it for 20% over wholesale... Pretty common for feed stores, they are just selling a lot of it to make their money, instead of selling it like box stores do...smaller quantities with huge mark ups.
My wholesaler buys direct from the mill, and charges me 10% over to bring it to me. He makes 10% for doing nothing but being closer to the mill than me, and he already brings me my order anyway... Win/win.

If you happen to live close to a Purina mill, or a ADM mill, or whatever mill, you can buy direct. Mills are located pretty much all over the US. It's easier for them to bring the products to the mill, and mill it, rather than truck the finished product all over the country. I have a Purina mill about 45 miles from me, but they don't mill Mazuri, they mill the LabDiet Rat Chow, which I don't like...

    Re: harlan rodent block

When I called my tractor supply to find out if they carried rodent block, they said, "yeah, it's in the back near the horse food".

I drove 40 minutes and asked them to show me, it was rodent block alright, the poison block used to kill rats, not feed them.

    *sigh*

    I'm ordering online next week

Thanks! I was ordering from PetFoodDirect.com and it was costing me over $70 to ship. I just checked and to get 5 bags of Harlan it was $156. I was seriously considering hog feed at the local Tractor Supply when I ran out of Harlan, but once I looked at the National Pet Pharmacy site with $4.95 shipping, the cost difference between hog feed and rodent food was not that significant (to me anyway). Also, it saves me a trip on the weekends and I can still use it in the food hoppers of my lab cages.

Also if you check the box to sign up for auto ship you get free shipping. Auto ship is just a interval system that you can setup, I've got mine setup to autoship a new order of lab block 6 months from now, but you can make it whatever interval you want.
And don't forgot until 10/31/11 they are offering 10% orders over $85 with the coupon code 'SAVE1085'.
