Dealing with smelly co-workers...

Ok, so here is the deal. I'm about to head to work for a closing shift and I will be working side by side with a gal who does not take care of herself. She always comes in stinking to high heavens of body odor and dirty rotten :cens0r: (certain body part). It is bad enough it stinks up the whole room and we have massive industrial fans going at all times. Everyone else just seems to ignore it (although I have spoken to a friend that works there and he agrees its nasty). Now I understand sweating and having normal body odor while working in a hot environment, but the other really makes my stomach churn and I do not believe I should have to deal with this. None of us should. I fear that someone will cry sexual harassment if I make any complaints. I don't believe I'm being unreasonable in expecting my co-workers to bathe properly and have good hygiene.

Thoughts? Advice?

As far as I'm concerned, personal hygiene (which includes washing and what not) is usually addressed under your work contract or whatever else you have going on there, in most, if not all institutions.

Bring it to your supervisor's attention.

Yep, talk your your supervisor. Personal hygiene is required in the workplace as it is a health issue.

Ohhhh passive aggressive folks, how I love thee. I'm the kind of person to just tell it like it is. Not in a rude way (at least as not rude as I can be if I'm telling someone that they smell). You can try the ol' compliment sandwich (in case going to higher ups doesn't work).

Try this (or some sort of variation of this): "Look sweetheart, you have a beautiful soul but you don't have a beautiful smell emitting from you. You’re awesome...but if you just take care of yourself, you'll exceed awesome and go straight into epic awesomeness."
