Spring or tap water?
I was just wondering what everyone else gives their snakes. I use spring water because I worry about things like chlorine and other things that tend to be present in tap water.

There's not enough chlorine to harm it. What else are you worried about?

Tap water won't hurt them. If you're concerned about the chlorine, fill up a container and let it sit out for a few hours. The chlorine will escape.

Re: Spring or tap water?
I use bottled drinking water. I used to use tap water, but it left a flakey white ring of crud in their water dishes. I figured that junk couldn't be good for them. I sure won't drink it myself!

That's dumb. The white stuff is harmless. It's hard water deposits, mostly calcium carbonate which is what egg/sea shells are made of and salt. Which are also in your bottled water.

I live in the middle of nowhere. I go to a spring and get water for my snakes and rodents.

I don't have city water out where I live. We have a well. But I imagine if I did have city water I'd still give my BP tap water. In the wild they sure drink much worse than what is in tap water.

Re: Spring or tap water?
I buy distilled water for my snakes because we have a well and that water goes thru a water softening system - I was concerned with the high salt content so opted for bottled water.

Chlorine evaporates very quickly. It is probably gone by the time the snake actually takes a sip, unless it drinks within the hour of putting the water bowl back in the cage.
Tap water always for me.

Chlorine doesnt kill us. Have seen the quality of water in africa that they have survived on for thousands of years? I wouldnt think too much about it
