I'm sure this isn't new for some people, but I felt like posting because I have seen many other posts about using Bed-a-Beast and other "pet store brand" coconut husk type substrates.

Most hydroponics stores offer organic coco coir in bulk for purchase. Bales of approximately 4.5 cubic feet expanded, is less than $20 dollars. The bale is approximately 2' x 3' x 6" without expanding. It lasts "forever" as long as you hydrate small amounts when you need to use it.

This is MUCH LESS than what the pet stores charge for the same product. Most pet stores usually offer small bricks for 2-4 dollars a piece or something like that.

Just my 2 cents....

I hope it helps lower costs for individuals that like to use coco coir husk for their substrate, and especially for people that have multiple snakes.

Thanks,

P.S. My new hypo has been doing well. I finally get to handle him later tonight. Waiting for a week and making sure he ate his first meal was tough, but well worth it, as he's loving his new home and ate too. I'll get some pics up soon enough.
