    How do hognose genetics work?

I am curious about how western hognose genetics work. How is each morph created? How do "hets" work and what do the percentages mean? For example, if you breed two hognose that are 100% het for a color morph, what would their normal babies be? Would they also be 100% het for that same color morph?

    Thank you for your time.

They work the same way any snake breeding works. If it's say a het albino x het albino pairing your odds are.

    25% Albino
    50% Het Albino
    25% Normal

but when working with het x het it's offen impossible to tell which of the normal offspring are hets so they are all lumped together and labeled as 66% Possible het for (Albino). This only changes when you breed these poss hets to a visual recessive or another het that produces a visual recessive, in this case it is then changed to a 100% het for (Albino).

Recessives are a little more complicated than dominant and codominant morphs.

One more question, if you breed two co-doms that are both het for a recessive trait, what would the ratio of the babies be?

Just use the worldofballpythons getetic calculator. Its designed for balls but works the same as it word for any other snake.
