    MITE problem

So my snakes have Mites! My snakes in the bedroom to keep them away from my girlfriends which are in the living area. We live in a small 1 bedroom apartment, and we are dealing with the mites, we picked up some PAM at the expo. My question is how do I keep my gfs snake ok? I'm going to spray his things too just in case, but are there any other pre-cautions i should take? I'm worried that because the other snakes are in the bedroom I might've transferred them through my clothes or something into the living room. Can that happen? I always wash my hands and arms anytime I've touched any snakes... I'm sorry if I'm being paranoid I just want to know how to keep every one safe. We are going to start treating monthly as a precautions and any ideas on that would also be appreciated. Thanks Again

Yep, you can definitely transfer mites through your clothes/body to your snakes, and in a one bedroom apartment it is kind of inevitable.
I got mites I suspect from bringing them home from a reptile expo (this was a long time ago).

It's a good thing you're treating everyone for mites. PAM is the way to go, and after we used PAM we never saw a mite again!

Don't sweat it, you have the right stuff and you guys will be mite free in no time.

Reach for the stars, and if you don't grab them at least you'll fall on top of the world.

Just treat every enclosures in your apartment now and again in 2 weeks.

Keep the same protocol when working with the snakes, established collection first and newer snake last.

Treating monthly is way overkilled, the important is to treat new incoming animals while in QT

I treat preventively twice a year and treat each incoming animal while in QT, never had mites

We just dealt with mites here too with a BCI that we brought in as a rescue. Ordered PAM, used it once and have not seen any evidence of mites since.

Personally, I'd treat everyone's enclosures just to be on the safe side. I would treat the snake that has the mites for sure again in 2 weeks, as a preventative measure. Monthly treatment however I would NOT do.

remember it is linked to cancer in humans I'd not suggest monthly exposure it would be unhealthy for you!
