    Rainbow Boa Housing

What do you keep your adult rainbow boas in? Pictures would be nice.

If you don't own one, I don't care how much you've researched about them; I'm asking for actual owners' opinions.

    Re: Rainbow Boa Housing

I currently house all of my Brazilian Rainbow Boas in homemade racks using appropriately sized Sterilite tubs. BRBs also do well in Boaphile cages, Vision cages, etc. The most important thing with any Rainbow Boa enclosure is limiting ventilation so the humidity in the cage isn't lost to the ambient air in the room.

So they don't need the height space like an arboreal snake? And does the rule length + width of enclosure > length of snake apply?

I usually start off babies in 7 quart Sterilite tubs. Then I move them up to larger tubs as they grow. Small enclosures or cages with small hides help babies feel more secure. Brazilian Rainbow Boas don't need tall cages that you would normally use for primarily arboreal snakes, but when given the opportunity to climb will sometimes make use of it. When fully grown, I would recommend at least 4-6 square feet of floor space.
