Humidity Too High
I got my ball python yesterday, and I am having a hard time regulating the humidity in his tub.
I've had the tub set up for 3 days, and every time I check, the humidity is about 80-90%. I misted the tub once on the 1st day, and there is a small water dish in there too. I'm using newsprint for substrate. I have 1 line of holes on all sides of the tub.
I live on Vancouver Island, and it is humid here right now. (About 75%-80%)
How can I lower the humidity in his tub? I honestly have no idea.

Stop misting...I highly doubt you will ever need to with a tub. All you need is a water dish and humidity should be just fine. If it's still too high after you stop misting then drill a couple more holes in the sides.

you can try making more holes in the tub. Do you have a lid on the tub? if so make holes in the lid also. And if you already have holes on the lid make more. I had to do this for one of my tubs also.

The easiest solution is making more holes in the tub. One of the many reasons why tubs are so convenient. If you are using a lid on the top, you could make holes in the lid, or even cut a hole in the lid and put screen in there instead.

Re: Humidity Too High
You can also increase airflow in the room by using a fan to keep the humidity down.

Just dont make too many extra boles at one time. They are a pain to weld up if you have never done it before.
