I use an oil filled radiator heater, hooked up to a Ranco thermostat to keep my snake room at 80F. I also have a small generator in the garage that can run the heater and thermostats during a power outage. I also keep a few hand warmers in case they are needed. and I am considering one of those indoor propane heaters as a back-up. This is my primary room heater:
