    Orange Ghost.... Worth Buying?

    http://syracuse.craigslist.org/pet/2601291367.html

So I found this on Craigslist. I don't know how to tell for sure if he is an Orange Ghost or not, but if he is, then is he worth having?

I have a nice female norm. I don't want to breed her any time soon (I want to make sure that I learn a lot more first) but someday I will (if hubby lets me). I've been keeping an eye out for a male with a price tag that's too hard to pass up, but I have no idea what I want.

Not the best OG I have seen but it could just be the crappy pics too.
Kep in mind IF you bred him to your female you would get all het OGs then you would have to grow those girls and breed back to him to get the visual OG.

I forgot to ask... I don't really get all the het and hex stuff. If I breed my female with any morph then will all the young be hets?

I only mention it because I have a male and didnt know the OG is recessive. I hvae a lineup on a het female though.

I say offer $150 for him. I'd buy him for $150...probably not $200. Regarding the genetics, there is a lot that goes into it, but here is a good thread you should read

    Re: Orange Ghost.... Worth Buying?

So then, what morphs could I breed with a norm and get something not norm? I'm more of an instant gratification type. I'm way to ADD to wait three.5 years to see a cool baby python.

Dom and Co-Dom will give you some visual offspring or combo morph
Recessive to anything that is NOT THE SAME recessive will give you a possible het(not visual)

Save this genetic wizard to your book marksyou can play with different combos to see what you could get. Just keep in mind that the % is per egg, NOT the whole clutch.

You can get a quality ghost male for $150 when you actually want to work with one and add it to your collection. It would have to be a screaming deal to be an "impulse" buy IMO. A recessive project is not the most newbie friendly project if you don't have breeding plans specific to it. Just a different opinion Good luck with your decision either way.

    Regards,

    B
