to breed or not to breed - this is the question..

Hey Guys,

So I have some new additions! I've had them for over a month now and I've just weighed them in.

One of my females is siting around 1300 grams. With this said she's around 42 inches long. I wouldn't put her in the skinny range but she was when I had got her. She's been eating four large adult ASF's every 7 days and is looking healthy. With this said she's a little bit underweight. I really wanted to get her breeding this year but I'm worried that if I pair her that she's gonna have issues during ovulation, and I don't want to lose her as she's part of my axanthic line.

Some people say that BP females can breed after 1200 grams and others say that they need at least 500 grams per foot. What do you guys think I should do? Has anyone had success in this situation?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

She's a Wlydtype het. axanthic and I want to breed her to my pastel het. axanthic male. I only have one breeder male for this line and my pastel het. axanthic female has decided to be a picky eater and drop her weight (iz mad).

But I'm hoping for the double gene pastel axanthic and since this is my first breeding project it would really help me get off the ground to produce this. Mind you I'm just excited to produce my first clutch.

LOL I'm working on getting rats through my contact. I feed live and the guy I buy them off of only gets shipments every 2-3 weeks. If I don't get my order in on time then I can only get ASFs. I'm working on getting Norway Rats for the feeding next friday . I think She will switch no problem but my others might give me some problems. :\

She eats whatever we give her and as much as we will let her. We're not sure if she's a ball python or a boa.

She should be up to a good weight by the time she ovulates so go ahead and start pairing. My girl packed on weight when I was pairing and it took a while for anything to happen
