I just tried to feed my jungle for the first time since i got him about a week ago and he wont eat, he strikes but doesn't constrict or swallow. and i doing something wrong or should i just wait till next week to try again? he is 51 grams almost 4 months old

Those are signs of a stressed snake that is defensively striking. I would hold feed for another week and try again.

I agree. Until then you should offer more areas for him to hide in, such as more foliage or an upside down bowl with a hole cut in the side.

Ok so I added some Foliage to the tank and added a old black towel than i can drape down and cover half the tank. what do you thing? should i add anymore? or adjust its positioning?

Looks great, just give the snake space and time.

Try feeding with the lights dimmed (or off), at nighttime. If feeding F/T, make sure the feeder is warmed to body temperature.

Another option is leaving a dead feeder in the cage overnight. This works well for one of our BRBs, I just put it within his eyesight, and by morning he has eaten it.

If he skips a feeding, wait at least 5 days.

Don't worry until your snake starts losing weight. They can go a long time without food and still be healthy.

One thing to think about is the type of feeder being offered.
My IJ will defensively bite a rat, but will constrict and eat a mouse.

51g at 4 months iz a little on the small side.
what are you trying to feed him?
