If you glue the probe only glue the back half of the probe. The 1/2 that connects to the cord. Leave the front 1/2 unglued so it can read temps right. If you do do it in the enclosure it needs to be in a spot the snake cannot lay on it, or you need to make sure the snake cannot spill the bowl. Etc. You can do it on the side of the tank on the hot spot side maybe an inch from the bottom, just set it lower. Like I have mine set for 85.f. And on the sub it reads 92.f. You'll have to fiddle with it before gluing it down. You want to make sure your placement is right before you secure it down.
