You should NEVER do this. Tape on the inside of the tank is an absolute no-no. Please look at the number one sticky over all care sheets.

IMO scotch tape is fine, avoid packing tape. Probe outside the tank will not give an accurate temp reading. The probe should be place on top of the UTH, then have the bedding cover it. I would just get rid of the tank and get tubs! so much easier to clean and keeps humidity in. High humidity is ok, just as long as the enclosure is not wet.

It kinda looks like you were running in place when you took those...JK

Also blue painters tape is ok I think. that's what I use for my hygrometer probes.

There should NOT be tape of any kind inside of a snake's enclosure. You are just asking for problems! Try using hot glue instead.

    Re: My setup. (PICS NOW)

Set up looks ok, im not a fan of the tanks compared to tubs due mainly to the humidity factor. You can find lots of info on this site on how to treat the lid to increase humidity.

Are you guys bickering about the location of the THERMOMETER probe or the THERMOSTAT probe? It seems to me like yas don't even know which you are arguing about.

Thermostat probe should be outside the enclosure on the heat pad while the thermometer probe should be inside so you can determine the temps.

Snake enclosure thermometer probe outside the tank doesn't make much sense does it?

the disadvantage of putting the thermostat probe directly ontop of the UTH, is that it is reading the UTH temp, not the temperature after is is 'mitigated' by the glass, and not to mention, the bedding/substrate will even take a few degrees out of it.

    just my

Okay I just put him in a 10 gallon and covered 90 percent of the top along with a small water bowl and 2 hides.. 1 humid. and i'm at 50 percent humidity. Now im wondering if I add a humidifier to my room... A good old timey one... will it help at all? its running right now releasing steam.

    Re: My setup. (PICS NOW)

Just a quick question then...so is it okay to hot glue the thermostate probe to the inside of the tank? Would you just glue it to the bottom? Or glue the whole cord too? I currently have mine in the tank, under newspaper with a hide in one corner of the tank and a rock in the other corner to kind of hold everything in place. I am constantly worrying about him moving the probe out of place. It stays suctioned to the bottom well. I've only once had it come up and that was directly after cleaning.
