New and quick things to cook.

Post something you find that is easy to make. Provide an easy to read write up, or add a link, with or without additional comments. I'd prefer to keep it healthy, but post em' all. I like burgers, pizza, and fries too!

My latest favorite thing to make is Lentil soup. It costs around $5 to make and serves around 8-10 hearty and filling servings, it is filled with protein and fiber, it tastes amazing as well, especially after the seasonings sit for a night in the fridge.

Above is basically what I do but I add a lot more garlic and a little cumin, plus a ton more vegetables. Last time I added cabbage and it worked incredibly well.

    Cream of mushroom chicken:
Get one of those big cheap bags of frozen boneless/skinless chicken breasts and a can of cream of mushroom soup.

Cook chicken breast (you can cut it up or not, depending on preference).
Remove breast from pan, pour in cream of mushroom soup, add ~half a can water
Bring to boil, put chicken back in, leave for a couple more minutes. Done!

Cheap, easy, and plenty of ways to modify it (add mushrooms, make it spicy, etc etc). This recipe saved me from the Ramen Diet in college a good number of times XD

    Homemade sloppy joe's

I use whole wheat buns, lean hamburger, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, green peppers, vidalia onions.

Cook up the hamburger and strain. Add chopped green peppers and onions (and whatever else you want in them!) and cook them through the hamburger. Add some brown sugar, I usually add like 3-4 teaspoons for 1.5 lbs of hamburger. Cook that through, then add the ketchup and mustard until it's sloppy joe-like. It's quick and easy and tastes better than Manwhich lol.

Um, spinach and artichoke mac and cheese?! Amazing!! You can make this easier on yourself but I just love the idea!

I never seem to follow recipes completely, I'll do things the lazy way or make things myself when they suggest just buying something prepackaged. I mostly just look for inspiration for yummy foods. I've been obsessing over zucchini and mushrooms right now. Also starting to really dig olives and sundried tomatoes. Mmmm And avocado. I swear avocado is food sent from the heavens. I actually had lobster stuffed fried avocado earlier. what madness is this? It was delicious. Devilish, and delicious.

But yeah, some of these recipes might call for crazy things, but it's not to hard to come up with an easier solution that is just as tasty! Mmmm

I post food and recipes on my pinterest account all the time. Mostly just prettily designed food(aka cupcakes LOL), but also food I like, which is mostly veggie things!

Also, one of my favorite cooking sites is Tablespoon.com, they have yummy recipes and again, inspiration for well designed foods that look GOOD..like rainbow cheesecake!
