Anger Issues?
Hey guys, Saturday evening I fed my BP and he did great. Like usually after about 48 hours he sticks hi head out of his hide. I came over to look at him and as soon as my face gets near the glass he struck at me! When I did that I jumped back and put out of instinct put my hands in front of me and one of them got near the glass and he struck at my hand too! Now his head head in neck is sticking out his hide and he's yawned a few times and his head is turning towards everywhere I go. Has this happened to anyone else, and what could be causing this? His temps and humidity are all on the spot...

How big is he, how big is his enclosure, what are your temps, are your hides tight, how often do you handle him, how often and how big of preys do you feed?

He's 5 months old, had him for 2 and is no bigger than 2ft long, I haven't been able to way him yet because I can't find a good scale. He is in a 20-long tank and he barely fits in his hides with about half an inch above him. He's at night time temp of 79 degrees. I handle him a good amount almost everyday for at least an hour. I feed him medium mice from petsmart every 7 days, I tried every 5 but he wouldn't eat that soon.

You need to increase the size of his food, a small rat would be better for him

Sadly, the 3 closest petsmarts don't ave rats small enough, but on Saturday I gave him the last mouse in teh box and will be getting more shortly so I'll up his food size.
But still, why would he strike at me, with food he rise up starts hissing and then strikes. When he struck at me he just darted out and smacked his face on the glass. Is there any chance he could break his jaw/neck from doing that?

Re: Anger Issues?
He may still be hungry also I would look for a mom and pop pet store the usually have a better selection of feeders or order online in bulk that is what I do. My sons was getting a little agressiven hissing and such. We switched to rat pups our Problems went away. Hope this helps

Ok I'll try to find another pet store and get him some bigger mice, and once he's full grown I'll start to order online
