    Spider BP acting strange suddenly?

My Spider is acting funny. Last night about 9 pm I cleaned his whole cage and kept him in a box for 15 mins till it was done. Afterwards he picked a spot on top of his hide and he hasn't moved a muscle, literally, in almost 24 hours.

Here's a pic of the exact position he's been in all day.

He usually spends all day in his hide and then becomes very active at night. Sometimes all night. Which of course, seems normal. This is why this new behavior is so odd. He often climbs to the lid and falls several times with a thunk! I figured what can I do to stop him? If he wants to climb and fall, he will. But I wonder if he got hurt or something.

His hot side stays around 90-92 and the cool side is a little low at 75 but I've heard that's not terribly bad as long as the hot side is good. I top off water daily and clean/change substrate and water once a week. I handle him once a week for 10 mins.

Any ideas what's up with him? He's eating great and at 100g after only 5 meals.

How long have you had him? If he's a fairly recent addition, I'd be inclined to say he's just getting used to his enclosure. They tend to be really active for the first couple of weeks before getting used to their environment and settling down.

If it's really bothering you, there's no harm in picking him up and sticking his head into his hide so he can crawl in. I'm sure he's perfectly fine, though. No worries :-)

Hes 2 months old. So I guess that could be it. He has become a lot less jumpy when being held lately. So, maybe he is just getting comfortable. Which is good. But, its only 75-77 degrees out of the hide so I was expecting him to go in his hide after a little while. I suppose if he stays that way a little longer I'll pick him up and see what's up.

    Thanks

The spider gene is prone to be neuro. This is because they were so overbred and imbred off of the original imported animal that was neuro. This is why they sometimes have wobbles and eratic behavior. rarely is it a dire situation. I had a bee once that was neuro and he would do the same thing. He would literally stare at the same spot in his cage for days. He grew out of it and as he got older he stopped doing it as often.

Neuro as in neurological? I've read a little about the wobbles and stargazing but I fortunately have seen neither in him. Except his head wobbles side to side when he lifts it up,but my normals have all done that from time to time too. His is more pronounced though. I'll have to read up a little more on what exactly neuro is I suppose.

    Thanks for the help!
