    Would This Tub be Okay?

I currently house 1.2 to 1.3 in these tubs:

And it has worked great. However, they take up a lot of height and since I plan on moving them to a unit that is 3ft high, I'd like to change. I see most larger scale breeders use litter pans which are pretty short, will these tubs be suitable?

It is basically the same floorspace, but 6.5" of height. This will also make it much easier and cheaper for me to install food hoppers ontop.

    Let me know, Thanks.

The lid does have a slight ridge but I haven't had any chewing issues with the other tubs which they can get to the ridges if they climb on the food hoppers. I plan on keeping the lids on. I will not be building/buying a rack.

I made a tub an it worked well for a 1.4 it was a taller one because i was nervous about chew outs so i had room for a wheel. Didnt want them to be bored.

Those bins are probably okay. I keep my mouse food in them.

I bought one and will try it with a group and see how they do. I will melt down the ridges inside the tub. I'll let you know how it goes, I'm sure they'll be fine. If not, I'll go back to the other cages.

    Thanks!

I would think if you melt them they might be more likely to chew, because the areas will smell weird, and still have a slight ridge, and the smell will attract them. I'd just leave the ridges, and hope for the best.
