Today has been a crap day for the most part. We rent the bottom half of my in-laws duplex. We woke up to my mother in law banging on the door screaming hysterically. My brother in law's beloved german shepherd/husky mix, Ruby, got hit by a van. Still in my underwear I ran outside and I got there just in time to see her take her last breath. Everyone in the family loved her. So I was walking morbid all day because of her untimely death and also dreading my brother in law getting off work and having to break the news to him. That was a hard one to do and is the only time I've ever seen this man cry. Later today I was in the bathroom watching our rat rack and I witnessed one of our breeders give birth to 8 healthy babies. That lifted my spirits quite a bit. One life taken away, 8 more brought into this world.

On a lighter note, my wife made my day the other day. I love her to death, but she can be the most clueless person sometimes. We were talking about a lady she works with and how her boyfriend is getting out of prison in a couple weeks. I asked her what he was in for. Her response, "Oh, nothing bad.". WTH??? Besides a few "offenses" that I find bullcrap and won't mention here, you usually do not go to prison for doing nothing wrong. That cracked me up.

Well this is from last Friday, but I would say it is still relevant.

My girlfriend who was at first adamantly against me owning any snakes. Well when I got home from overseas, she let me get a little ghost male, and just last Friday, she bought me a female bee!

I can't wait for the bee to get enough meals to get here! I'm running around getting everything ready for her.

The 2 guys laying the plywood flooring at my new place have been making me smile all day.

I bought a 3 BR mobile home dirt cheap, mainly because it reeked. The last owner was a junkie and a drunk and I don't know who befouled the floor worse--him or his dog. The carpet we threw out was horrifying.

7 gallons of Kilz later the smell is gone, I'm getting half inch plywood laid over top of that mess today, and the new laminate is going down tomorrow. By tomorrow evening the place will look and be livable.

i was watching a video someone made of his reptiles, and he said "i think..." then he accidentally panned the camera away from the leopard geckos he was recording.. "this one has bla bla bla".. then corrected the camera, and went on like it didn't happen lol. i'm easily amused which makes me enjoy life a bit more than most (i like to tell myself that)
