Need a helpin hand.

So I bought a VPI axanthic from bhb awhile back and now she has seemed to slip away and disappear. She's been gone for a bit now and since I just found this forum today I figured I'd get some other opinions. She's been gone prob round a month or so now and was very well fed so I know she will be ok for awhile. And ideas of drawin her out or traps. Any idea is appreciated I need to get this girl back. Gone for a month? Wow...not sure how much help we can be. Can you give us some more info to go on? How big/old was she when she escaped? How did she escape? What kind of room was she in when she escaped? Is it a dedicated herp room? Or a bedroom? Living room? Apartment or house? How sealed off is the room?

Some tips that I usually give to folks looking for a lost snake:

1. Never dismiss small containers, tight spaces or tiny openings...they can squeeze themselves through and into astonishingly small spaces.

2. If you think the snake is still active somewhere inside the house/building/room...try laying a dusting of flour all along the edges of the walls and across doorways at night before you go to bed. Look for tracks made in the night.

3. In whatever room you think the snake might most likely be in, find a quiet activity to engage in and sit silently, listening. (ie: reading a book) This works best in the late evening or early morning when the snake is most likely to be active. You can put plastic grocery bags along the walls, and behind/under furniture to help increase the likelihood of rustling noises to key in on.

I've heard many stories of snakes showing up after being missing for weeks, and sometimes months (and once, even years!). Good luck.

I don't think much of what I know will help after she's been missing for a month but here's what I have:

- She's going to have come out for at least water at some point, so I would leave some water out along a wall. Put some flour or rice near it so you can see if she's been visiting it.

- Snakes are pretty crafty and can get into amazing places, so you pretty much have to look everywhere. I had one go missing for a week and I eventually found her under my kitchen sink. She was able to open the cabinet.

- Try leaving a heat pad and a hide on the floor along the wall. She might be drawn to the warmth.

- Depending on her size, you could try to make a trap out of a plastic 2L soda bottle but cutting the top and inverting it and placing a f/t rat/mouse inside.

As I said not sure how well these will work at this point, but good luck finding her.

When she got out it was just my fault for not putting the clips on the cage. Shes was only about 7 to 8 months old and just getting round 18inches or so long. The room she was in is just for snakes but since they don't take up the whole room yet there is some other ransoms things in the all of which have been completely torn apart. And the house is a town house. There's cinder blocks between the house so I no she can't get from house to house. But just locating her has proven to be hard.
