Setting the UTH, Thermometer and Thermostat

Sorry if there are any threads on this, couldn't find any :/

Long story short: Today I received my HydroFarm Thermostat (I will upgrade to a real thermostat when I get more snakes), and I was waiting to set Volvagia's Tank properly until I got all the stuff I needed.
    Right now I have:
    Zoo-med UTH
    Hydrofarm Thermostat
Acurite Thermomether (the one with inside/outside temperatures and inside humidity, which I modded to have 3 external probes, instead of 1)
    Pics:

    My questions are:
1- Should I stick the UTH to the tank, or use the foil paper method?
2- What probe do I put between the UTH and the glass (thermostat or thermometer)? If I remember correctly, it was the thermostat probe, but it's kinda big and placing it between the pad and the glass will be a Royal Pain in the rear (Unless It can be stripped down?).
3- How do I set up the other probes correctly (they are all exposed; see pics) so that water or whatever won't do any damage to them? Can hot glue or silicon affect the sensors THAT much?

    IDEAS are more than welcome!

Re: Setting the UTH, Thermometer and Thermostat

Well what I did was place the T-stat sensor between the glass and the UTH Taped the edges all around with foil tape. Placed one probeunder the hot hide one in the middle of the tank. And adjusted T-stat temp till I got the ambient and hot hide temps I wanted and has been running great ever since.
    Hope this helps

I put the thermostat probe directly on the underside of the tank next to the glass and then tape the pad down over it. If you get yourself some little plastic stick on pads at Walmart--the kind they sell to attach on the bottom on knicknacks so that they don't mar your shelving--you can raise the tank bottom a smidge so that your tank still sets straight and there's room for the small bulge the probe makes. I like taping as opposed to sticking the pad straight to the tank because you might want to change it someday and it's easier to peel tape than a stuck down UTH.

I set the thermostat at 95 and check the reading in a couple of hours. You will lose a few degrees of heat through dissipation and whatever other dumb physics stuff I slept through in college. Different substrates will change the actual temp you end up with too. After that two hours, check the temps (a temp gun is a godsend if you don't already have one) and adjust your thermostat setting to fine tune the heat.
