I have heard that carpet pythons make excellent display snakes. I am personally considering an irian jaya myself in the future. From what I have gathered, they do climb quite a bit and rarely hide. The tiger-like pattern is quite eye-catching too and they have nice temperaments.

As another consideration, my BCI red tail boa is quite the little climber. She spends 80% of her time on her branch and she's a real joy to have. Of course, they are quite a bit larger. But personality plus!

And my dream snake is a GTP so I would definitely go with one or two of them if you have the means, lol....
