I have a herpstat II and I'll never buy from another company again. it's reliable, accurate, easy interface, and the customer service is excellent. I really don't think you can go wrong with spyder robotics.

Re: Herpstat ND vs VE 300

I have them both. I use my herpstat on my incubator for its precise tenth of a degree temps and I have a VE on one of my racks and it works great and has the time feature. Both work really great for me. Rich at reptile basics has always gave me great custumer service on anything I have bought from him.

I have various stats here including Helix and Ranco but my newest is a VE-100. I really like the VE but the next one I buy will be the VE-300. The 100 model is only on/off (which is ok for what I am using it) whereas the 200 and 300 are proportional OR on/off usable. The 300 has built in night drop (I haven't had a need for that yet) AND a battery for the clock. Also the high/low history and alarm seem like a nice feature. I've gotten all of them from Rich at Reptile Basics, so he gets my money no matter what, but his new stats that he designed himself are great.

I have been using a VE-300 for a few months now on my rack system, and I have been nothing but happy with it. I will definitely look at another one down the road when I need one.

yeah I'm hearing great things about the VE300 and its cheaper too which is nice. If your looking for a single channel night drop thermostat save yourself a couple of bucks and go with the Vivarium Electronic one.

I have a VE-300 running my incubator and a VE-100 running as a fail safe just in case. They've both been going strong and have been accurate for about 4 months now.
